every word spoken
every little act you’ve done
creeps in like nightmare
all of the harsh words
go beyond both my deaf ears
and straight to my heart
i have a bruised heart
eyes that are like nimbus clouds
so ready to pour
mind that doesn’t forget
a heart that’s pained and weary
eyes that are swollen
that is what I have
that’s how I’m feeling right now
so yes, I’m not fine

Hearts are burdened by our emotions sometimes I wonder how they still manage to not shatter completely. Enjoyed reading this.

Maybe because the heart knows it needs to stay strong and keep pumping otherwise all the organs in the body will start to die. I’m happy you enjoyed my piece and thank you for checking it out!

“eyes like nimbus clouds” really clinched this for me. It is indeed a raw intimate view of heartbreak, apt for the prompt. Thank you for joining in.
