“Night is purer than day; it is better for thinking, loving and dreaming. At night everything is more intense, more true. The echo of words that have been spoken during the day takes on a new and deeper meaning.”
Do you also love the feeling when the surroundings start to dim? When everything seems to slow down, gets quieter, the moon and the stars show up, illuminating the sky, and overall just give that cozy vibe? I definitely do. Just the mere thought of it makes me feel safe. That I can be just me…in my pajamas, hair down, no trace of any makeup.
When in bed and ready to sleep, I would think about my day, the past few weeks, or anything that still has an impact on me up to the present time. I would ask myself how I’m feeling. In short, at night I talk to myself and always try to be as honest as I can be.
Maybe you will say, “Why lie to yourself anyway?” Well, many people, if not all, do that sometimes. We tend to be in denial of what we really feel. We hold back and sweep everything under the rug. Maybe because it’s part of our coping and defense mechanism. We want to feel in control even though deep inside we are crumbling. But that’s life, right? In the end, all of the struggles and battles we silently face will just make us stronger.
